The Rockland Public Library presents Carlos Pavan, Thursday, June 10, at 6:30 p.m., on Zoom. This event is free and open to all.

Brooklyn-based composer and guitarist Carlos Pavan skillfully blends Argentine tango and folklore rhythms with classical and jazz concepts. Described as having "striking music and great originality" by Classical Guitar Magazine, he is part of a new wave of modern classical guitar composers working from a mix of traditions and influences. Pavan will perform some of his incredible work for the library in this virtual concert.

Carlos Pavan was born in Argentina and has been living in New York since 2000. He is a former student of maestro Jorge Morel, Dave Smey (Brooklyn Conservatory), and Pablo Ziegler (A. Piazzolla's pianist). Carlos has performed internationally in France, Canada, Portugal, Ireland, and Japan, and has recorded three albums. He is currently the artistic director and composer of the Park Slope Chamber Players.
