*Session 1 (2-3 pm) Championing Latine Graphic Novels in Middle School Libraries: Strategies for Intentional Selection and Inclusion
Latine graphic novels are more than engaging reads; they are powerful tools for literacy, representation, and student belonging. This session, moderated by Dr. Karina Quilantan-Garza, explores why these titles deserve a place in middle school collections, even in restrictive policy environments, and offers practical strategies for collection development, advocacy, and responding to common challenges. Participants will leave with ideas and resources they can immediately apply in their own libraries.

*Session 2 (3-4 pm) Curate with Confidence: Building a Must-Read Graphic Nonfiction Collection
School library director and former English teacher Julie Rick will share resources on how to curate a diverse and dynamic graphic nonfiction collection for kids.  During this presentation she will highlight strategies to evaluate and select high quality graphic nonfiction to meet the needs and interests of your young readers. 

*Session 3 (4-5 pm) Manga Programming 101 (With A Side of Anime!) (Booklist) 
YA librarian Joe Pascullo will be on hand to discuss manga programming at public libraries, and how to implement them for your respective youth audiences. Additionally, we’ll take a closer look at the “anime bump” certain manga receive, how to spot them in advance, and how to tie them into programming and collection development!
