DPLA Book Talk: Jacqueline Woodson on Banned Books (DPLA) Online

DPLA’s Book Talk returns this spring with a special free webinar, featuring award-winning author Jacqueline Woodson in conversation with Jill Egan, leader of DPLA’s Curation Corps and curator of the Banned Book Club. Woodson, whose acclaimed works—including Brown Girl Dreaming and Red at the Bone—have been frequently challenged or banned, will discuss the impact of censorship, the importance of diverse storytelling, and the power of literature in shaping young readers’ lives. This conversation is part of DPLA’s efforts to ensure access to books that have been removed from schools and libraries due to bans. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from one of today’s most influential voices in literature and the author of multiple titles available in The Banned Book Club.
