Public Library Trustee Roundtable In-Person

Effective library advocacy and marketing is critical to the success of the library. Library trustees play an important role in communicating the value of the library to stakeholders and patrons.

Whether you’re a seasoned advocate or just starting out, we hope you’ll join us on Friday, April 12 from 11 AM - 1:45 PM at the Maine State Library in Augusta. Curtis Memorial Library director Liz Doucett will lead a discussion on communications, marketing, and advocacy followed by a question and comment period. Bring your lunch and enjoy networking and getting to know other trustees from around the state. We’ll wrap up the day with sharing and discussing whatever’s on your mind.

Elisabeth Doucett is the longtime director of the Curtis Memorial Library in Brunswick. She has a master’s in library science from Simmons University and an MBA in marketing from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. Liz is the author of Creating Your Library Brand: Communicating Your Relevance and Value to Your Patrons, New Routes to Library Success: 100+ Ideas From Outside the Stacks and What They Don’t Teach You in Library School.
